WIKE AND AMAECHI BATTLE FOR SUPREMACY AS RERUN ELECTION APPROACHES

Inspector-General of Police  Solomon Arase has deployed three Commissioners of Police to supervise security arrangements within the three Senatorial Districts of Rivers State namely; Rivers East, Rivers West and Rivers South East respectively

And to further buttress the security arrangement, the IGP equally directed the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Adisa Baba Bolanter in charge of Zone 6, Calabar to relocate to Port Harcourt on Monday, March 14, 2016 for pre-elections preparations.
That’s not all, the Police high command has also approved the deployment of 6000 conventional Policemen and 14 Units of Police Mobile Force personnel (MOPOL), to Rivers State to compliment the personnel of the state Command during the period of rerun election in the State.


Inspector General of Police Arase explained that the move is to ensure a conducive environment for free, fair and credible election and therefore assured that law-abiding electorates of a secure and enabling environment to exercise their franchise.
Arase however warned all security details to desist from accompanying their principals and politicians to polling booths and collation centers during the election, stressing that only security personnel specially assigned for election duties must be seen within and around the election designated places.

In spite of this warning recent elections shows that Police orderly still carry out this assignment on election day as if they are unaware of the IG of police directives.
Masquerade 234 can also state authoritatively that the main gladiators in the election Rotimi Amaechi and Nyenson Wike need to sheath their sword and behave as statesmen that they are, because anything short of that would be tantamount to chaos and its consequence would be too devastating for the citizens Of Rivers State.

Furthermore President Buhari needs to nip the current situation in the bud, as it is dis heartening that a serving governor and minister could condescend so low as to use gutter language on themselves, the earlier this is done the better for the electorate, the government of the day as well generality of the rivers people.
