In Nigeria President Mohammadu Buhari has called on religious
leaders to teach the true doctrine of their religion against the ideology of
religious intolerance and insurgency.
He made the call in his keynote address at the 2016
international Islamic conference in Abuja. While he expressed delight at the
focus of this year’s conference which is to promote global synergy in the fight
against insurgency as well as attract global attention to it Victims, President
Buhari stated that religious and political leaders play a great role in
defeating terrorism.
The Nigerian President reassured Nigerians of the government’s
commitment to track down insurgency in the nation shortly.The ongoing 2016
international Islamic conference is tagged security and stability in the face
of contemporary challenges.
