POLICE AND AREA BOYS CLASH IN LAGOS

A clash between the Police and Area boys in Ikotun area of Lagos has left three persons dead and many others injured. The clash started around 11 am when a swat team of policemen attached to Area “M” command, Idimu, stormed a purported Indian hemp joint around Agbole area of Ikotun to effect the arrest of some suspected hoodlums.

Their action was resisted by the hoodlums which then led to a heated argument between both parties that resulted into violence, in the ensuing violence one of the suspected hoodlums was killed.

The death of their colleague led to a protest that saw several youths  with dangerous weapons storming the Ikotun division police station and attempted to burn down the police station but the crowd was dispersed when policemen fired shots into the air..
