Governor Rochas Okorocha and Speaker Imo House of Assembly Rt Hon Acho Ihim |
Imo State Political intrigues have taken a new
dimension with the battle shifting ti the State House of Assembly, where at its first plenary following the just
concluded convention of the ruling All Progressive Congress four members of the
state house of assembly have been suspended..
Masquerade234 gathered that the latest development
is a fallout of the what transpired between supporters of Governor Rochas
Okorocha and his deputy, Eze Madumere, who engaged each other in a free-for
-all fight at the convention ground last Sarurday.
The Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Acho
Ihim, who presided over the plenary, accused the suspended members of engaging
in “un-parliamentary conduct.”
The affected lawmakers were Chiji Collins,
representing Isiala Mbano state constituency; Ifeanyi Nnataraonye, Mbaitoli
(Madumere’s LGA ); Uche Oguwuike, Ikeduru state constituency (Madumere’s
in-law); and Ikenna Nzeruo, representing Oru West state constituency.
The Speaker immediately appointed Lawman Duruji, who
represents Ehime Mbano, as the chairman of the committee that will look into
the allegations of the alleged “un-parliamentary conduct.”
Ihim, who did not explain the “un-arliamentary
conduct,” announced that the suspension was indefinite and that his leadership
would not tolerate acts that would tarnish the image of the Assembly before the
members of the public.
