NLRC AND EFCC ENTER PARTNERSHIP TO SANITIZE LOTTERY IN NIGERIA



In its continued effort to ensure that Lottery is played the right way in Nigeria, the National Lottery Regulatory Commission has entered in to partnership with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to sanitize the industry.
Addressing newsmen at a joint press briefing at the headquarters of EFCC, Director General of National Lottery Regulatory Commission Adolphus Ekpe says the partnership is to rid the industry of fake lottery promoters.
Ekpe emphasized that such collaboration would help government agencies achieve more.

Responding the Acting Chairman of EFCC Ibrahim Mustapha says illegal operators should regularize their business to avoid the full wrath of the law.
He also urged licensed agents to key into the SMS Transaction Monitoring and Archival Platform STRAMAP of the Lottery Commission.

Both parties however agreed to leave a window of opportunity till the end of April for those who want to regularize their operation to do so to avoid a breach of the law.
