OONI OF IFE VISIT BUHARI AT ASO ROCK

 Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi says youth empowerment was his outmost concern. Ogunwusi stated that with the dwindling oil economy, it was necessary to get back to the farms and other non oil sector.  

Speaking with the State House correspondents after a private meeting with president Mohammadu Buhari at the presidential villa, Abuja, the Ooni said he had held meetings with the Minister of Agriculture, Audu Ogbe to work out the modalities of empowering youth through agriculture.

Recalling that the agriculture was the mainstay of the nation’s economy before now, Ooni revealed that he has assembled two hundred thousand youths who were ready to engage in agro-activities, saying that 5 acres of land had been mapped out for each youth.

The new Ooni of Ife has brought some vibrancy into the royal atinery of the stool and has also been in the news for visiting other traditional rulers in south west Nigeria promoting the unity of the Yoruba race in Nigeria.
