In Nigeria the embattled Speaker of
Bayelsa State House of Assembly has debunked claims that his election was nullified
by an appeal court in Port-Harcourt on the 9th of December 2015.
Addressing journalist
in Abuja Honorable Konbowei Benson wondered where the All Progressives Congress
(APC) got the judgment they are circulating on social media.
Konbowei urged the
National Judicial council to safe the country’s judiciary by investigating the matter
and perpetrators dealt with.
When asked why he
waited this long before making this public Hon. Konbowei Benson said he didn’t
want to join issues with those peddling falsehood, adding that the judgement in
his favour was gotten since 9th of December only for the falsehood
to emanate Thirty Six days after being 14th of January 2016.
He assured the good
people of Bayelsa that the House of Assembly under his leadership would
continue to make laws that will give the people the dividend of democracy.
