Human
Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, HURIWA has urged those practicing citizens
journalism on social media to stop trivializing the arms deal as this will go a
long way in portraying Nigeria as an unserious nation in the eyes of the
foreigners.
National
Coordinator of Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, HURIWA Emmanuel Onwubiko
who briefed the media in Abuja condemned the way and manner those mentioned in
the arms deal worth Thirty two billion dollars are being treated on social
media even before they are convicted by a court of law.
The
rights agitator accused the All Progressive Party led government of
grandstanding with the arms procurement deal, adding that the party is deliberately
leaking out information to citizens through the social media to preempt the
court judgments and malign the opposition Peoples Democratic Party in the eyes
of citizens.
Meanwhile
an Abuja high court on Monday postponed the hearing on bail application of the
former National Security Adviser Sambo Dasuki and others arraigned by the
Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
