CASER CALLS FOR MILITARY INCLUSION IN ELECTION PROCESS IN NIGERIA.

Executive Secretary CASER Barrister Frank Tietie
Citizens Advocacy for Social and Economic Rights says there is need for Nigeria’s Military to be part of Election process in the country, following the large scale violence that greeted the Bayelsa State governorship elections.

Executive Secretary of CASER Frank Tietie at a press briefing says only the military can protect the sanctity of the ballot by providing security for citizens to carry out their civic responsibility.
He wondered why recent elections in Nigeria are witnessing an upsurge in the malaise of violence that has become a trademark of elections in Nigeria.
Tietie also urged citizens to stop denigrating the Military at every given opportunity, insisting that kudos must be given to the Nigerian Military for averting a disaster in Bayelsa State, adding that the Military hierarchy has to become more vociferous in their zero tolerance for violence during elections.
