FCT COMMUTERS GROAN UNDER NEW TRANSPORT POLICY
FCT Administration restriction on Mini buses plying the city center took effect from today June 3rd, 2013 and the newly introduced high capacity buses were seen moving commuters from place to place. The initiative which has not gone down well with mini bus drivers and commuters who were stranded at various busstop, is gaining momentum with most road user and residents of the city.
According to the secretary of the transport secretariat Jonathan Ivoke, the FCT new transport policy has come to stay and over 350 high capacity buses have been purchased by the administration to cushion the effect of the policy.
Masquerade234 drive around the city shows that cab drivers and some private vehicles were having a fields day due to the large turn out of stranded commuters at various bus-stop with in the city. How well the policy will go still remains a doubt but the administration is determined to get it right this time.
