HON FAROUK LAWAN REMANDED IN KUJE PRISON FCT

Former Chairman House of Representative ad-hoc committee on monitoring of the subsidy of fiel subsidy regime Farouk Lawan has been remanded in Kuje Prison for allegedly receiving three point five million dollars.

The prosecution alledged that Emenalo Boniface an asistant director who acted as the secretary of the committee recieved about 18 million naira from the deal. Farouk and Boniface are standing trial on a seven count charge.

Masquerade234 gathehred that Farouk is charged with corruptily obtaining the sum of five hundred thousand dollars from Femi Otedola the chairman Zenon Petroleum and Gas Limited as an inducement to remove the company's name from the committee's report.

Justice Mudashiru Oniyangi adjourned ruling in the application ton february 8 and ordered that Farouk Lawan be remaned in prison till that day.
