POLICE SAY ABUJA BOMB SCARE A HOAX

The Nigerian police headquarters in Abuja has described the panic of discovered explosive near the Nigeria Postal Service as a hoax. Deputy force PRO Frank Mba told newsmen that the said box was just containing sand and ceramic tiles.

Mba emphasized that when the issue was brought to the attention of the Nigerian police, the area was cordoned off, and the Police Bomb Squad called into the area at exactly 11:00 am Nigerian time only to find that the package was not a bomb.

The force PRO stated that a pop sound that emanated from the activities of the bomb disposal squad was mistaken to be an explosion by members of the public.

Frank Mba however commended members of the public for their alertness the issue of security was every bodies business and urged them to go about their daily business.sking residents of the area to go about their normal businesses.
