LAGOS GOVERNMENT ORDERS JUNIOR OFFICERS OF LASTMA TO STOP ARREST OF EERING OFFICERS.

Lagos State government is bent to curb the reported excesses of enforcement of the state’s traffic laws, and the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority has ordered junior officers in its rank to stop arresting erring motor-cycle riders and motorists in the state forthwith.

Masquerade234 believes the action is taken in a bid to checkmate aggressive enforcement of the state’s traffic law by LASTMA.

General Manager of LASTMA, Engr. Babatunde Edu, gave the order in an address at a public forum on the Law, organized by the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association emphasized that the directive became imperative to curtail the excesses of rank and file of LASTMA official

According to Edu, the move was a spontaneous measure to respond to the complaints against aggressive law enforcement by junior officers.
