Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation has
apologized to Nigerians over the fuel crisis rocking the nation and the long
queues experienced by citizens at fuel station.
Briefing State House correspondents at the
presidential villa the group executive director NNPC Upstream Bello Rabiu
emphasized that they are doing all to end the crisis.
Rabiu says presently over one thousand five hundred trucks
of petrol are dispersed daily round the country.
Rabiu also used the opportunity to reel out some of
the strategies being adopted by the corporation to ensure that citizens no
longer experience fuel scarcity and queues.
Some of the strategies include importing of the
product, rehabilitation of vandalized pipelines to transport the product round
the country, and proper storage of the product at all major depots scattered
round the country.
Bello Rabiu was accompanied by the Group Executive
Director Downstream Henry Orih, Group Executive Director Refineries Anibo Kraga
and Group general Manager Public Affairs Garbadeen Mohammed.
It was also revealed that the country spends between
16 to 20 billion dollars daily to import fuel into the country.
