CBN SET TO INTRODUCE NEW NOTES INTO CIRCULATION.

CBN Deputy Director Operations Tunde Lemo
CBN Deputy Director, Operations, Dr Tunde Lemo says the apex bank would take delivery of new naira notes before the end of September for circulation. Lemo stated this in an interview with Newsmen on Wednesday in Abuja.

The apex bank had earlier said that new naira notes would be in circulation by June, and that the smaller denomination notes (N5, N10, N20, and N50) would be reprinted on paper.

Dr Tunde Lemo emphasized that the public will get a large quantity of the new notes to replace the old mutilated notes, particularly the higher denomination notes in the first instance, then later the lower denominations.

On the scarcity of the lower denomination notes, Lemo blamed commercial banks for what he called “poor circulation”.
AS the All Progressives Congress, APC, continues to bask in the euphoria of registration as a political party by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, a chieftain of the party, Chief George Moghalu Wednesday  boasted that the party will produce an Igbo president come 2015.

Moghalu told Vanguard in Abuja that APC was capable of meeting the desires of the South East by producing a president from an Igbo extraction as it has the internal mechanisms to actualise the dreams of Ndigbo.

He also said the coming of APC will change the face of democracy in the country since it is in the benefit of Nigerians, and that the government in power will sit up and work hard to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people. - See more at: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/08/apc-ll-produce-an-igbo-president-come-2015-moghalu/#sthash.XdOmeyNN.dpuf
