A Rights group Citizens Advocacy for Social and Economic Rights has faulted Civil Liberties Organizations petition against the military in Rivers State.

According to the executive secretary of CASER Frank Tietie an independent enquiry carried by the group showed that the military was out to restore order in the community.

He showed both audio and visual evidence of the enquiry carried out by his group, adding that the Nigeria Military shouldn’t be cowed just because of political aggrandizement.

Tietie stressed that Citizens Advocacy for Social and Economic Rights would storm the national assembly to place the record right.

He reiterated that men of the armed forces also have rights and that their rights should be protected as well.

The Executive Director also wondered why till date in Nigeria no one has been prosecuted for electoral violence in the country, adding that perpetrators of violence during elections should prosecuted to stem the tide.
