WINNERS AND LOSERS AT ELECTION TRIBUNALS IN NIGERIA

In Nigeria the election petition tribunal siiting in Ogun State has nullified the Election of Senator Buruji Kashamu, representing Ogun East Senatorial district, as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The Tribunal also nullified the election of a federal lawmaker, representing Ijebu East /Ijebu North /Ogun waterside, Adekoya Adesegun.
Five members of the Ogun state house of assembly were also sacked by the tribunal on Friday, over non-compliance to electoral law.
Consequently, the tribunal, headed by Justice Ebiowei Tobi, has directed that a new round of elections take place in 110 polling units.
Meanwhile the Lagos State National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal on Friday upheld the declaration of Femi Gbajabiamila as the winner of the March 28, 2015 House of Representatives election in the Surulere Federal Constituency 1.

Justice C.U Anwuka-led three-man tribunal rejected the petition challenging the victory of Gbajabiamila and his party, the All Progressives Congress in the said election.

Gbajabiamila, who is now the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives,  had been declared winner of the said election by the Independent National Electoral Commission after polling 21, 715 votes.
