FORMER CHAIRMAN OF LABOUR PARTY CALLS FOR POSTPONEMENT OF ELECTIONS

Former Labour Party National Chairman Dan Nwayanwu

Frontline Politician and former chairman of Labour Party say the present political situation in the country is very worrisome.

Dan Nwayanwu is of the opinion that Independent National Electoral  Commission cannot distribute up to 75% of the Permanent Voters Card, adding that the electoral body needs more time to achieve an appreciable target.

Dan Nwayanwu says the present stage of PVC distribution is skewed to favour the All Progressive Congress, which wont allow for a level playing field for candidates of other political parties.

He urged the electoral body to shift the elections to either the last week of Match or in April within the stipulated laws, which says earlier than Ninety days to the election or later than Thirty days before the  hand over date of May 29th.

Nwayanwu called on INEC to stop deceiving the public or try to hood wink them into believing that they are on top of the situation, insisting that if the elections are shifted as proposed by him, it wont hurt the people, it wont hurt the country rather it would afford the Independent National Electoral Commission the opportunity to cover more grounds and ensure that eligible voters are not disfranchised.
