Inspector-General of Police, IGP MD Abubakar, has ordered the redeployment of twenty-three Commissioners of Police as well as thirteen Deputy Commissioners of Police to various Commands and Formations across the country.
The posting is part of strategic efforts
to reposition the Force for improved efficiency and better service delivery.
The IGP enjoins the affected Police Chiefs to step up the fight against all
forms of criminality in the country and equally ensure sustained improvement of
public safety in all facets of our national life.
He
appeals to Nigerians from all walks of life to support the new Police
Commissioners and their lieutenants to enable them succeed in the discharge of
their constitutional and statutory mandate.
One
of the affected officers is the Rivers State commissioner of Police Joseph Mbu
who has been posted to the FCT and would be replaced by Johnson Ogunshakin.
Until
Ogunshakin redeployment to Rivers State, He was the Commissioner in charge of
the SFIU, Lagos.
A
statement issued by Mr. Ferdinand Ekpe in Abuja said the announcement is with immediate effect.
