The national leadership of the Nigerian Union of
Journalist has thrown its weight behind the proposed National Dialogue been
canvassed by the present administration of President Goodluck Jonathan.
Addressing the press, National President of the
union Mohammed Garba emphasized that challenges in infrastructure development,
issues bothering on security of lives and property and the numerous strike
action calls for a dialogue.
The NUJ President Mohammed Garba also advised that
the constitution amendment exercise of the National Assembly be suspended until
after the dialogue. He went on further to state that there shouldn’t be areas
of restriction during the National Dialogue.
Garba also appealed to the federal government and
University lecturers to resolve the lingering ASUU Strike.
