PRESIDENT JONATHANS VISIT CAUSES GRIDLOCK IN LAGOS

President Goodluck Jonathan
Vehicular movement was disrupted in some parts of Lagos groaned on Monday as security aides blocked several access roads in the metropolis for President Goodluck Jonathan to visit the widow of the former National Security Adviser, Gen. Owoye Azazi.

Most motorist queried the rational for blocking road anytime the president or his wife visit the centre of excellence. In what has become a routine armed soldiers and policemen mounted barricades on some major roads leading to Ikoyi as early as 5a.m, causing untold hardship to road users.

President Jonathan was accompanied on the visit to Azazi’s Ikoyi, Lagos family home by his Chief of Staff, Mike Oghiadomhe; Special Adviser on Research, Documentation and Strategy, Oronto Douglas; Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah; Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dieziani Alison-Madueke; former Managing Director, Niger Delta Development Commission, Timi Alaibe; and Chaplain, Aso Rock, Ven. Obioma Ozurumba.

Masquerade234 gathered that emotions took a better part of the President as words failed President Jonathan during the visit and Oghiadhome had to speak on his behalf.

Azazi died along with the governor of Kaduna State, Patrick Yakowa, and four others when a Nigerian Navy helicopter conveying them from Okoroba, Bayelsa State to Port Harcourt International Airport crashed a few minutes after takeoff.
