KADUNA GOV NOMINATES DEPUTY GOVERNOR

Kaduna State Gov Muktar Yero
The new governor of Kaduna State, Muktar Ramalan Yero, has nominated the state Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Nuhu Bajoga, as his deputy.

Yero ascended from the office of deputy governor to governor last week Sunday following the death in a helicopter crash of Governor Patrick Yakowa in Okoroba, Bayelsa State on December 15, 2012.

Kaduna State Commissioner for Information, Saidu Adamu, confirmed the development to newsmen on Monday after the governor met with principal officers of the state house of assembly. He also confirmed that Bajoga’s name had been sent to the assembly for necessary screening.

Nuhu Bajoga, who is from Southern Kaduna, is believed to have been picked by Vice-President Namadi Sambo, who is regarded as the political godfather in the state, but political watchers insist that the choice of Bajoga will split southern Kaduna politically because he is not their choice.
