Information from Taraba State says the embattled deputy governor Sani Abubakar, has been impeached.
Abubakar was impeached by 20 of the 24 members of the Taraba State House of Assembly, while three members were absent during the sitting.

The action followed the assembly adoption of a recommendation of the seven member judicial commission of inquiry set up by justice Josephine Tuktur the acting chief judge of the state. Chairman of the commission Usman Dangiri said the deputy governor was found guilty of the three allegation against him.

The 20 members voted n favour of the adoption of the report submitted by a judicial panel that investigated the allegations leveled against the now former deputy governor.

However Sani Abubakar had challenged the constitution of the panel and the impeachment process in court.
