PRESIDENT JONATHAN INSIST ON PEOPLES ORIENTED CONDSTITUTION

President Jonathan says the federal government is committed to delivering a people oriented constitution, the president stated this at the maiden Presidential retreat for civil society organization and professional association that took place at the banquet hall of the presidential villa.

According to Jonathan, in a true democracy sovereignty lies with the people and the people should be given the opportunity to create the constitution that governed their daily affairs. the president said government acknowledged that civil society group had tremendous knowledge of constitutional review and therefore ready to partner with them on the amendment process.

The retreat was organized as part of the the 2012 Independence Anniversary of Nigeria and to enhance the foundation of Nigeria's nationhood.
