Special Adviser to President Goodluck
Jonathan on Media, Reuben Abati, over the weekend tried debunking some insinuations on the social media that President
Jonathan is a drunk and a glutton.
In an opinion article in The Guardian
on Sunday, Abati said the piece was to “correct” some of the myths
about Jonathan, underline the achievements of the administration and
equip the “twittering, pinging, Facebook crowd of the new age” with facts that should guide social commentaries.
The social network have been awashed
with reports of the President’s passionate love for the local gin,
Ogogoro, widely brewed in Jonathan’s home state of Bayelsa State, but in defence of Mr.President Abati wrote that "We are not allowed to touch
alcohol. Alcohol is not served during official duties. Yes, when there
is an international function, wine is served, but nobody gets drunk
around here (Presidency). That will amount to an act of indiscipline.
Masquerade234 is wondering if the Special Adviser to Mr Presidetn on Media and Publicity really know the job he is assigned to do at the presidency. if he continues like this very soon we will see him trying to defend the president sleeping with his wife.
Reuben Abati should either brace up for the 21st century duty of an S.A on Media and Publicity and stop insulting the sensitivity of Nigerians. if the kitchen there is too hot he should throw in the towel and allow someone who know the job to do the job.
