Badagry in Lagos is synonymous with so many tourist attraction like the Sun Tan beach, Whispering Palms Resort and it is also home to some relics of the slave trade and its trade route from the nigeria shores, not forgetting that this ancient town also houses the first story building in Nigeria.

The people of this town are also known for their rich culture and beliefs which is why all year round they engage in one form of festivity to another. From the 1840s, following the suppression of the slave trade Badagry declined significantly, but became a major site of christian mission work. 

Badagry subsists largely on fishing and agriculture,and maintains a small museum of slavery.
This is the first storey building in Nigeria, overlooking the Marina waterfront. It was built in 1842 by the missionaries.
