NIGERIAN GOVT SAYS NNAJIS RESIGNATION WOULD NOT AFFECT POWER SECTOR REFORMS

Minister of information Labaran Maku says the resignation of Barth Nnaji as Minister of Power would not affect the on-going privatization program of the nations power sector. according to maku the resiognation was to give credibility to the power sector reform program of the present administration.

Maku said the action would not in any way hamper the process of the privatization of the PHCN, he urged Nigerians to see the resignation of the Power Minister as a patriotic act which would rather assure investors in the power sector and reinforce confidence in the system.

Meanwhile the former Minster of Power Barth Nnaji has expressed gratitude to President Goodluck Jonathan and Nigerians for their support during his fourteen month stint as Minister of power. Special adviser to the minister Ogbuagu Anikwe expressed the appreciatiuon in a statement in Abuja. he said he had to resign as minitser to maintain his intergrity.

Barth Nnaji in the statement emphasized that not many in Nigeria have had the privilege of being Minister twice.
