SENATE THREATENS TO ARREST FINANCE MINISTER OVER BUDGET

The upper chamber of the National Assembly has threatened to arrest the minister of Finance Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala over failure to appear before it today over the implementation of the 2012 Budget.

Members of the appropriation committee say they disagree over the minister insistence that the executive has implemented the budget 56%, saying that so far only 21% of the appropriation act has been implemented.

Chairman of the appropriation committee Ahmed Maciddo however says the appropriation committee is giving the finance minister another date Thursday next week.

the ding dong affair between the executive and the legislature seems to be on an up swing, so who blinks first, the Masquerade is watching.
