BAMANGA TUKUR SURVIVES SACK AT 62 PDP NEC MEETING

Peoples Democratic Party held its 62nd National Executive Committee meeting to articulate plans for its special National Convention slated for August 31st 2013.

The meeting had in attendance the President and commander in chief Goodluck Jonathan, the Vice President Namadi Sambo, Deputy senate President Ike Ekweremadu, some state governors and there deputy, ex officio members, serving members of the National Assembly and other leaders of the party.

National Chairman of the PDP Bamanga Tukur in his address emphasized that the party has continued to grow from strength to strength in spite of challenges.

He added that he runs an open door policy that furthers the principle of Reconciliation, Reformation and Rebuilding.

Contrary to media speculations that the 62 NEC of the Peoples Democratic Party would endorse the President for another term and also see the resignation of the party’s National Chairman, the meeting turned into a forum for strengthening relations.

After the closed door interaction, the members of the party came out of the meeting in a convivial manner that put paid to all the speculations.
