TERRORIST KINGPIN ESCAPE FROM POLICE CUSTODY

I.G of Police Mohammed Abubakar
Media was agog yesterday with the information that a top Boko Haram commander, Sani Mohammed escaped from police custody in Abuja. The suspect who was arrested with another Boko Haram operative, Kabir Sokoto in January, 2012, allegedly escaped from the cell where he was kept with other terror suspects.

However in a swift reaction the Force Headquarters claimed that no terror suspect escaped, adding that no one with such name in its custody. Deputy force public relation officer Frank Mba reiterated this claim and emhasised that a check on its recoed showed no such name on its list of detaniees.

Mba affrimed that the public should disregard the information been circulated by TV Station in its entirety.

A similar incident happened early this year when Sokoto, the alleged mastermind of the Christmas Day bombing of Saint Theresa Catholic Church, Madalla, Niger State, escaped from police custody at Abaji, a satellite town in the Federal Capital Territory after he was arrested at the Borno State Governor’s Lodge, Abuja.

Masquerade234 is calling on the Inspector General of Police Mohammed Abubakar to get his resignation letter ready if truely a terror suspect escaped from its custody. Moreover this escape bring to the fore the problem raised by the state security service that it is not confident when handing over dangerous suspects to the police.

Masquerade234 is watching closely and our ears are on ground to get details of the saga.
