Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha has suspended the commissioner of women affairs and social development Nma Onyechere with immediate effect. Senior Special
Assistant, Media, Sam Onwuemeodo, explained that the
suspension followed the unwarranted physical assault the woman unleashed
on a serving Commissioner in the Local Government Service Commission, Emeka Okoronkwo.
The reported incident brought bad image to the administration and the Governor strongly felt that such a public figure of the rank of a commissioner should learn to properly manage her temper very well, no matter the level of provocation”, Onwuemeodo said.
It was also gathered that the Commissioner had been directed to immediately hand over all government properties in her possession to the Permanent Secretary in her Ministry.
