TRAGEDY: BUSINESS MAN KILLED FOR REFUSING TO SETTLE AREA BOYS

Area boys  in Ajegunle area of Lagos have killed a business man, Charles Ugwu for refusing to settle them. The incident occurred at Uzor Street, Ajegunle. Ugwu a tyre dealer was said to have been accosted by two area boys, identified as Saturday and Chimezie, while offloading goods from a vehicle to his shop when the incident happened.

Wife of the deceased Stella, who witnessed the incident, told Masquerade234 that her husband had resisted the thugs’ efforts to extort money from him resulting in the assault on her husband. She said at about 9pm on that day, two young men, known as Saturday and Chimezie, accosted us saying they would not allow us to continue working until we settle them.

in an ensuing argument one of the hoodlums was said to have stroke the deceased with a stick on the neck and Ugwu fell on the ground where he was confirm dead.

Masquerade234 gathered that immediately after Ugwu was killed, the Divisional Police Officer of Ajegunle Police Station, Abayomi Agbana, was contacted and a detachment of police was dispatched to the area and the two suspects were arrested.

The bereaved wife who is calling for justice is lamenting the hardship that had been brought on the family due to her husband’s death. Adding that the hoodlums have wiped out joy from her life.

Ugwu left behind three children  aged between 9 and 15 years.
